The diversity of landscapes and natural wealth that Vallehermoso shelters offer the tourists different possibilities. Among others, to enjoy a wide range of open-air activities in contact with nature to enjoy their holiday.
One of the best ways to know the geography and insular culture is to go into the trails and let oneself go by the amazing landscapes and villages where the people greets you when they see you or getting to some areas barely visited by people as well as pulling oneself together tasting some typical products from the island.
The trails are undoubtedly the first part of the touristic offer, with about 650 kilometers of suitable paths in 2013. It has two Large Routes (“Grandes Recorridos”), the GR131 “Cumbres de La Gomera” 43 km and the GR 132 “Costas de La Gomera” 143km. The National Park has 64 km of accessible trails distributed in 18 recommended routes. We can also practice more intense sport activities such as downhill mountain bike along its rural paths, climbing or canyoning.
Another activity that has proliferated in the last years is the practice of scuba diving. There are several academies located in the island, especially in the south. Waters are perfect for its practice as they are calm nearly the whole year. These are rich in coastline species and, of course, clear and clean.
It is also possible to go on ship excursions from the south in order to watch cetaceans as well as the amazing cliffs of our coastline, some of them with more than 600 meters vertical drops. The excursions to watch “Los Órganos” are remarkable because the size and shape of this place is really astonishing. La Gomera also offers the practice of other activities like golf, gastronomic routes, sail navigations, mountain races or wine tasting among others.
